Grearia (Esportivan: Grearia), officially The Grearish Union (Esportivan: Repubblica dell'Unione Grearese) (French: République de l'Union Grearique), is a sovereign country country in Esportiva. It is bounded by the Barbosa Sea on the south, the Strait of Santaguerra on the northeast, and the Covello Bay on the north; it shares land borders with San Jose Guayabal to the west, and South Covello to the east. In the Barbosa Sea, Grearia is in close proximity to Gadirya from the city of Colk in the Manta Islands, while it shares a maritime border with Iesusisgodistan in the Covello Bay across the Strait of Santaguerra. The modern country covers an area of 655,436 km2 (253,065 sq mi) spanning a range of climates from dry and arid desert plains to humid and wet coasts to the high mountains in the nation's north.
The modern Grearish Union has descended from the ancient nation of Gloriax, after a time warp had engulfed the nation. It is widely believed that the ancient Gloriaxian Gods were responsible for pushing the country into such a crisis, popularly thought to be a punishment of sorts against the corrupt ways of the erstwhile Gloriaxian government. Folklore also suggests the existence of a curse that allegedly said that The truth is still unknown. Most of the remains of this previous country were only discovered as late as the 1880s, and the discovery of the direct ancestral lineage from the Gloriaxians to the modern Grearish people was made only recently.
The Grearish Union is a parliamentary democracy and a federal republic consisting of its six states with Atheburn as its capital. Each of the six states have their own devolved assemblies and councils in accordance with the spirit of federalism that is prevalent in the nation. The prime minister is the head of state, assisted by their cabinet of ministers while the president is named as the ceremonial head of state for the nation.
Etymology[edit]
'Grearia' has been derived from the Old Grearish word 'graar' , literally meaning 'project' or 'venture'. It is considered to be a testimony of the intent of the early Grearish people to establish a functional form of government, especially after the demise of the first King of the Midlands.

Geography[edit]
Biodiversity[edit]
Grearia consists of regions with temperate maritime climate in the northern and souther coasts, with arctic climate in and near the massive Antane mountain range in the north. The state of chicaster also sees a very dry winter, enough for the Survey of Grearia to call it a desert. This relative diversity of climate leads to large scale migrations of wildlife in the country, causing a healthy ecosystem to exist thereby.
The nation has always been known as a home to a variety of species of animals and birds from the yellow-billed kingfisher which is seen as a supporter on the nation's coat of arms, to the national animal, the black dolphin which is widespread in the Barbosa sea, and is a protected species in view of it's cultural significance even though it is not endangered. The biodiversity in fauna of the nation is protected by the Zoological Survey of Grearia which is the principal body of
