The Yuezhou national football team (Yueyu: 月州人民联邦国际足球队) is the national association football team of the United Republics of Yuezhou. Nicknamed 龙队 ("The Dragons"), the team falls under the jurisdiction of the Yuezhou Footballing Association (YFA), the governing body for Yue football.

The team primarily contest the World Cup and Copa Rushmori, which alternate annually. Yuezhou first made its debut on the international stage during qualifiers for World Cup 78, losing its first match 5-0 to Darmen before finishing sixth in its qualification group. After a three-cycle hiatus, the Red Dragons returned to the international stage during qualifiers for World Cup 86, where they finished tied for second, narrowly missing out on a playoffs spot to Graintfjall. Yuezhou has also historically had moderate success in the Copa Rushmori, advancing past the seven times in its eight appearances and twice reaching the quarterfinals. Recently, the team has found more success on the international stage, qualifying for World Cup 88 and World Cup 93, as well as finishing second at Cup of Harmony 84.

Notable players[edit]

Han Ruoyang: A dynamic center-back known for his ability on and off the ball, Han was the first captain of Yuezhou.

Wen Xiaoli: An attacking midfielder known for his creativity on the pitch and his Sangauese activism off it.

Ruo Xiaolan: The first female player on the national team and an excellent goalkeeper for nearly fifteen years.

Li Jing: Longtime Yue captain and one of the first players to move to neighboring Græntfjall, Li's all-around skills brought a unique energy to the midfield.

Liu Huiying: The legendary attacking midfielder turned false-nine, Liu is arguably the greatest Yueren of all time, and enjoyed a productive career in Nephara that culminated in an Emerald Boot award.

Yuan Mingrong: A stalwart center-back for both club (Ararat) and country, and current captain of the Dragons.

Wan Sheping: The defensive midfielder is a multi-time Red League champion with Wirr Tsi, and scorer of the team's first-ever World Cup goal.

Head coaches[edit]

Qiu Hanying: The first coach of the Red Dragons was forced to resign midway through his first qualification due to poor results.

Alex Cartwright: The former Llamanean star striker managed the team for 5.5 years and found modest success in the CoH and CR. His controversial departure from the team started a prolonged backslide for Yue football.

Yuan Zilai: While he's best-known for his work with the Tumbra, whose high-water mark under Yuan has been a semifinals finish at the World Cup, Yuan also sparked a near-legendary underdog run in World Cup 86 qualifiers before being sacked midway through the next qualifying cycle.

Lu Jialan: The dour, counterattacking manager took Yuezhou to its first World Cup, World Cup 88, but resigned the following Copa Rushmori after disputes with the YFA.

Kang Guilin: A legend with Nangang Royals and briefly manager of Græntfjall before taking over the Dragons, Kang's tenure was cut short after World Cup 89 due to health concerns.

Ken Hayabusa: The affable Kandorese manager modernized the Yue game, but was sacked after World Cup 91 qualifying for failing to translate those results onto the pitch.

Chen Huikang: Over three years, Chen brought the team a runners-up appearance at Cup of Harmony 84, followed by qualification to World Cup 93. Apparently, this wasn't enough for the YFA, though.

Elaine Ashdown: The legendary Nephara midfielder is slated to take the reigns after World Cup 93 - will she deliver?
